Activities and results
The proposed project focuses on three main dimensions:
- transfer of good practices and institutional development through long life learning and field visits;
- youth direct involvement decisional process in participatory context;
- social equity, through the direct involvement in Roma community needs, aiming at equal rights.
The project also contributes to the specific objective of targeting social sustainability issues as it has the purpose of empowering the disadvantaged social target group in the sense that it engenders a framework in order for them to benefit from transnational cooperation (mobility, quick and direct information, facilities offered for special problems solving and needs, involvement of specialised NGO for Roma communities needs, advocacy and participatory democracy, creation of direct paid jobs for Roma community) in terms of both professional and personal development. Moreover, the project tackles the issue of institutional development within the higher education sector, representing an improvement and a continuation of initiatives and results in the partnership developed between West University of Timisoara and University of Iceland within the EEA project `Transnational cooperation for research consolidation through knowledge and innovation transfer` (Know Reset), with the potential of functioning as a pilot project and opening up avenues for policy-making, addressing the social sustainability issues, particularly initiatives that help combat discrimination and intolerance, and initiatives that will improve the situation of the Roma population, knowledge generation and exploitation through development of poles of excellence in public sector labour market, advocacy, governance, participatory democracy, citizenship and voluntary. The project will create an improvement of the educational offer and innovation capacity, transferring innovative approaches in partner institutions, oriented to human capital development in order to meet the need for international competitiveness.
